Well, we made it. We’re famous now – actually famous is an understatement. We’re super-famous. Bigger than Oprah. For those of you who don’t know about the internet yet, we made Jen’s blog this week – one of the most read blogs on the whole entire world wide web.
Also, this week we met with Mr. Homestudy for our one-on-one interviews. His real name is Paul, and he’s awesome, but we’ll call him Mr. Homestudy because his main job is to 1) visit our home to make sure that we don’t have loaded guns and dangerous chemicals laying around all over the floor of our house and 2) put together a report that says we’ve got a nice home in a nice neighborhood and we’re a nice little couple that would make great parents.
Mr. Homestudy owned one of the top 100 sites on the internet at one point in time. He sold it, made loads of money, and now he is a licensed therapist or counselor or something to that effect. Super cool guy – sort of makes me wish I needed some counseling or something just so I could go hang out with him.
At any rate, Mr. Homestudy pulled us into his office one at a time to make sure that Katie and I are not trying to Jedi-Mind-Trick each other into adopting. He also asked us if we loved each other, about our finances, and he told me that the number of people deciding to place their baby for adoption dropped in the 90′s when Jennifer Aniston decided to keep her baby on the show Friends. I’m not kidding – turns out people in the real world thought that Friends was like real life.
As a side note, our official caseworker has been assigned to us. Mrs. Caseworker will help us put together a letter to the birthparents with a collage or scrapbook (or something along those lines) that will make us look good. For those of you who think we are awesome, we will be selling signed copies of our scrapbook for $35 each – just kidding.
And to top it all off, Kate made this awesome video:

The tears won’t stop coming. That video was seriously so amazing, just perfect for who you guys are. Love you! And um, Friends was based on true and factual events. Their life is totally how it is to live in New York City in your twenties & thirties

Leslie, thanks for sharing this. You have a million reasons to be proud! While I have never met the remarkable couple, the video was amazing, and with it, I don’t know why they’d even need to make a scrapbook
Hope they don’t have to wait very long!
Holy SMOKES is that fantastic. OH how can it NOT touch someone’s heart?? I like Lolly’s comment about how she ” can’t wait to meet the precious little Goughlet ~”
